Ok so... the shop got done with my car at the close of business today so I went to pick it up. In fact, I helped put the final touches on installing the bumper. I noticed they hadn't yet put the mudguards on:

The body guy asked me if that's what was in the shipping box.
"yeah"
"ok, they're probably still back in the paint area"
So I go out there with the manager and we find them... exactly the way they were, unpainted!
The painter said he held them up by the old ones and they were the same part. So we took him over the car to look at how it didn't match up now that the bumper was on, to which he was like "uh.. oh yeah, they ARE different. I just thought they were like extras that came with the bumper" I should point out that the bumper was black primer and the mudguards were obviously pulled off a car as they were painted dark metallic gray.
I think this is proof that inhaling paint fumes destroys brain cells.

They're supposed to be getting painted tomorrow morning, so Me and Dennis are going to pick them up and install in ATL
I swear! These stupid little parts have been the single biggest problem with this entire install, and there's NO REASON FOR IT!!!
