I love all the styling except the grill. I think the interior is one of, if not the best I've ever seen. I really hope some of the design of this car makes it into a production model or at least into the next G.

WOW!! the magizine article i read on it, didnt give it justice at all. I did like the sub heading of it thou "Take that, Lexus"

the Essence uses Nissan's 3.7 v6 with direct gas injection and twin turbos, for only 434hp.
The Slim Electric motor sits behind the v6 in a rwd app. and it has 2 clutches, so either motor or both at the same time, can power the car.  It has no torque conveter therfore the electric motor will always start it off then gas joining in or taking over.

is this the first RWD hybrid?

Not the first RWD hybrid by a long shot.
The Tahoe and Silverado are both RWD as is the Lexus GS450h

It looks like it could have been the concept car that set the styling language for a lot of the new Infiniti's.
